Workshops for Enhancement of Research Skills for Young Researchers from Central Vietnam
Venue :
Detail :

The workshop aimed to turn young researchers working in various research institutes in Central Vietnam into “independent researchers” who can plan, carry out, and report research of their own. Envisaging the workshops as a research capacity building tool of young researchers, RCSD and partners staged a series of seven workshops between September 2003 and July 2004. Lectures and training on social science concept and research methodology were continued with small grants to conduct research. The researchers built the research around the themes of local history, customary rights, and ritual practices amidst modernity. RCSD then offered a writing workshop to refine the research reports. Research topics resulting from the training workshop are, for example:

• Cultural Adaptations of the Tuong Performance in Khuong Ha Village, Quang Binh.

• Changes and Persistence in Ceremonial Space of the Nguyen’s Ancestor Temples: A Case Study of Anthropology.

• Katu Culture : The Changing Meaning of Padil Yaya Symbol, A Case Study of Chake Village, Thuong Long Commune, Nam Dong district, Thua Thien Hue Province.• Phouc Village: Survival during Economic Transition.

• Don Ca Thai Tu in the Context of Tourism.

• Changes in the Life of Phong Lai People When Tobacco Product Losing Its Role.
