Two new books are now available through RCSD. One is the latest in the Critical Perspectives on Regional Integration series, CPRI 26 “Green Territorialization and Indigenous Politics” by Ling Houng. This is a study of the “greengrabbing” taking place against communities of Daai indigenous peoples in Chin State, Myanmar through the use of the Aye Chaung Public Protected Forest. The author conducts a deep and thorough study of how the state has manipulated green discourses to move forward with “accumulation by dispossession” and what the indigenous Daai communities have done to resist, along with their counterproposals for customary tenure and custodianship by local people.
Also now available is the Thai language translation of “Agroecology: Science and Politics” by Peter Rosset and Miguel Altieri, translated into Thai by Areeya Tivasuradej and Pakawadi Jitsakulchaidej, edited in the Thai language version by Thitipan Pattanamongkol. Rosset and Altieri, two of the world’s leading agroecologists, outline the principles, history and currents of agroecological thought, the scientific evidence for agroecology, and how to bring agroecology to scale and the contemporary politics of agroecology.
Check out both of the book and download the pdf versions online for CPRI26 and เกษตรนิเวศ or contact RCSD for printed copies of either or both books!
