La Ring

Biography

La Ring is a program officer and researcher at Enlightened Myanmar Research Foundation (EMReF) in Yangon, Myanmar. He holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree (2013) from Martin Luther Christian University in Shillong, India. He pursued a Master of Arts in Social Science degree at Chiang Mai University in Thailand in 2017. Since joining the Enlightened Myanmar Research Foundation, he has been vigorously involved in several research projects, including socio-economic, media, risk assessment, and social services monitoring including gender-based research. La Ring’s Master thesis titled “Accumulation by Dispossession and Local Livelihood Insecurity: A case study of Ruby Mining in Mogok, Myanmar” was published by The Regional Centre for Social Science and Sustainable Development, Chiang Mai University in 2017. La Ring co-authored the paper titled ‘Feminism in Myanmar’ supported by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Myanmar which was later published, and “Gender and Local Politics in Myanmar: Women’s and Men’s Participation in Ward, Village Tract and Village Decision Making” in Myanmar.
