Salai Van Bawi Mang is the co-founder of Victoria Academy, a community school that focuses on social and community development. He is now also serving as a research director at Chinbridge Institute (Center for Research and Social Studies), and works as a research associate with the Chinland Post media group, with a focus on conflict issues in Paletwa’s Chin State. He has been working on Burma’s democratic transition process, the promotion of human rights, democracy, and freedom of expression, federalism, and peace. His research interests are governance and development including but not limited to local governance, rural development, and land governance.
