Veng Seang Hai thesis research focused on remittances and social mobility in Cambodia. In 2019, he was shortlisted for a PhD Scholarship at Royal Holloway-University of London. His professional career started in the Documentation Center of Cambodia which is devoted to transitional justice and human rights. He has provided consultancy to the Gothenburg Research Institute and Raoul Wallenberg Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, exploring the legacy of the ECCC, and legal and policy responses to Covid-19 in Cambodia. His articles are available in the CSEAS-University of Hawaii at Manoa, and the Canadian Council for Southeast Asian Studies.
