Hosted by Chiang Mai University under the RCSD The Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development of the Faculty of Social Sciences, the KNOTS Transdisciplinary Research and Teaching Summer School 2018 would like to invite graduate students (both Master’s and Doctoral degree) from programs of KNOTS partner universities of who would like to engage in transdisciplinary research in the areas of Enviroment, Migration, and Inequality.
The Summer School and Field Trips will be two weeks and organized in Chiang Mai and nearby provinces. Participants will have the opportunity to learn transdisciplinary research methods with lectures and participate in discussion led by faculty members from European as well as Southeast Asia universities. Field trips to eight different sites in Northern Thailand—where participants can join following their research interests—will be offered.
Travel funding (for those from partner universities other than Chiang Mai University) and cost of stay during activities will be covered by the KNOTS project.
Those interested in participating please send a statement of your research interest of about 400-600 words (with preference in the areas of environment, migration and inequality) and your expectation in joining the activities to the organizer by 25 April 2018 at rcsd@cmu.ac.th for Chiang Mai University students and knots.ie@univie.ac.at for applicants from elsewhere.
