Register now to take part in the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) symposium on “Cultivating the Humanities and Social Sciences: Addressing the Multiple Marginalities of South and Southeast Asia” taking place from 8 – 10 December 2022 at Uniserv, hosted by RCSD.

This event is the first symposium to take place within the context of the “Cultivating the Humanities and Social Sciences and Supporting Under-Represented Scholars of Asia” project, taking place with the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). This project focuses on supporing scholars from conflict areas and post-conflict countries, particularly for emerging faculty members, graduate students, independent scholars, women, and ethnic minority groups. This collaborative project pursues cooperation, exchange, and the creation of a ‘network of networks’ centered the four main partners of Association for Asian Studies (AAS) located throughout the region:

  1. The Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development (RCSD), Faculty of Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University (Thailand)
  2. Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (Cambodia)
  3. Faculty of Humanities at Savitribai Phule Pune University (India), and
  4. School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Lahore University of Management Sciences (Pakistan).

This symposium will bring together main research and institutional partners as well as invited researchers and institutions to organize panel discussions/presentations. This will be a unique opportunity for all partners from Global South to meet and learn from each other.
