On 8-10 December 2022, RCSD co-organized the symposium, “Addressing the Multiple Marginalities of South & Southeast Asia,” under the AAS’ “Cultivating the Humanities and Social Sciences and Supporting Under-Represented Scholars of Asia” (CHSS) project, supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
The symposium brought together the network of scholars from conflict areas and post-conflict countries—particularly emerging faculty members, graduate students, independent scholars, women, and people of diverse ethnicity—from four main research and institutional partners, or hubs, of CHSS to meet and learn from each other and present their projects: RCSD at Chiang Mai University in Thailand, The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Royal University of Phnom Penh in Cambodia, The Faculty of Humanities at Savitribai Phule Pune University in India, and The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan.
