Under the project “Advancing Knowledge on Forced Displacement in Southeast Asia,” RCSD, project members Sirada Khemanitthathai and Andrew Wai Phyo Kyaw have been working with researchers, academics, and civil society members from around the region to develop their analysis, data, and research into proposals and ideas during the workshop on forced displacement held at RCSD in April-May of this year. Some of these short essays covering displacement issues from around the region are now coming to fruition and are available online here, as RCSD publications, “Essays on Forced Displacement in SEA.”
The first two essays, Malaysia’s Dokumen Pendaftaran Pelarian (DPP) Policy: Documentation without Protection? by Chuah Hui Yin and Producing Continuity in Fragmented Protection and Assistance Systems: Coordination Mechanisms Across Refugee-Led and Community-Based Networks in Thailand and Malaysia by Kunanyaporn Jirasamatakij are available online now. Further essays in this series will be available in the weeks to come, covering a range of forced displacement-related issues in the region, from Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia and more.
